What We Do

Pitch 2 Progress uses sports as an engagement tool to counter societal issues by facilitating positive relationships with young people, enhancing trust and creating positive destinations for young people, and adults. This in turn creates a sense of belonging, builds self-esteem and promotes healthy living. Pitch 2 Progress provides a platform to help young people improve their health and wellbeing, build confidence, and establish meaningful connections with the wider community.

The objectives of Pitch 2 Progress are to work with young people (ages 8-25) who live in areas of high deprivation and therefore lack the life-skills and opportunities needed to progress towards positive and healthy futures.

Participant Testimonials

We’re proud of the work we do with young adults in the West Midlands, including Taysir and Mariam who have shared their experiences with us here.

Being around peers has helped me to progress my social skills as well as sporting skills. After COVID-19, I was anxious to spend time around people but the staff at the P2P were friendly and welcoming. I’ve been provided many opportunities such as developing my passion for photography and attending events, such as the Street Games Youth Summit.

Taysir Abdi - 16

I really loved taking part in the 2021 summer camp. That allowed me to make friends and join the girls leadership course, which I graduated from. The leadership course has now allowed me to become a youth leader and now I volunteer on the younger sessions and I’m leading on our Common Wealth games GEN22 programme.
